Privacy policy

Illusionist Nigel Otermans takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains which personal data we collect through nigelotermans.nl, why we do so, how long we keep it and what rights you have. Last updated: 6 September 2026.

2. Which data do we process and why?

Contact form and booking requests

When you fill in the contact form we process your name, email address, phone number, the type of event and your message. This information is delivered to the management by email and is used solely to answer your request and handle a possible booking. Legal basis: performance of a (potential) contract and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. We keep this data for as long as needed to handle your request and for a maximum of two years afterwards for our records, unless a legal retention period is longer.

Email updates about Amsterdam Magical Experience

If you leave your email address for updates we store your email address, the chosen language and the page on which you signed up. We use this only to inform you about Amsterdam Magical Experience. Legal basis: your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing Management@nigelotermans.nl; we will then remove your address from the list.

Automatically collected data

Our web server records technical data on every visit, such as your IP address, browser type, time and the page requested. These log files are used only for security and to keep the website running properly and are deleted automatically after a short period. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

Form protection (Google reCAPTCHA)

To prevent spam and abuse our forms are protected with Google reCAPTCHA. When you use a form, Google processes your IP address and technical information about your browser and behaviour on the page for that purpose. This is necessary for the security of the website (legitimate interest). More information is available in the Google privacy policy.

3. Cookies

On your first visit we ask for your consent to cookies. Necessary cookies are always set; statistics and marketing cookies only with your consent. A full overview of all cookies, their purpose and expiry can be found in the cookie banner under Details. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via Privacy policyCookie settings.

We record your choice in the cookie banner so that we can demonstrate that you gave or refused consent: the consent ID shown in the banner, date and time, the chosen categories, the language, the page and an anonymised IP address. We keep this record for a maximum of 24 months.

  • Necessary – the cookie that remembers your cookie choice and the cookies of Google reCAPTCHA.
  • Statistics – Google Analytics, to measure anonymously how the website is used. Loaded only after your consent.
  • Marketing – YouTube cookies when playing embedded videos. Videos are loaded only after your consent.

4. Third-party services

  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Ltd.) – website statistics, only with your consent and using Google Consent Mode.
  • YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd.) – embedded videos, only with your consent.
  • Google Fonts – the fonts of this website are loaded from Google servers, which transmits your IP address to Google.
  • flagcdn.com – the flags in the language switcher are loaded from this service, which transmits your IP address.
  • Ticket sales – tickets are bought from the theatres themselves or from a ticket partner. Their own privacy policies apply on those websites.
  • Social media – the buttons to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube are plain links; no data is shared before you click them.

We never sell your data to third parties. We share data only with parties that need it to work for us (such as our hosting provider and email service) or when the law requires it. Google may process data in the United States; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

5. Security

The website is served over a secure connection (HTTPS). Forms are protected against abuse and only the management has access to the messages and sign-ups received.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict processing, to object to processing and to data portability. Consent you have given can be withdrawn at any time. Send your request to Management@nigelotermans.nl; we respond within four weeks. If you have a complaint about how we handle your data you can also lodge it with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

7. Changes

We may update this privacy policy, for example when the website or legislation changes. The most recent version is always available on this page.
